Built as a memorial to the soldiers and sailors of World War I, the Trenton War Memorial has been the site of presidental speeches, political conferences, and special events. It is home to several ballet, opera, and musical companys. Also on site is the Militia Museum which exhibits artifacts from New Jersey's citizen-soldiers (Revolutionary War to the present day).
Erected in 1893, this monument commemorates the American troops who fought with George Washington at the Battle of Trenton during the Revolutionary War. On boxing day of 1776 the small army defeated three British regiments. The monument is 150 ft (45 m) tall and is made of solid granite.
